Using Desi Lingo on your phone
Desi Lingo doesn't have a native mobile app yet, but you can use the web dashboard on your phone right now by installing it as a PWA (Progressive Web App). It works like a regular app — home screen icon, full-screen mode, no browser bar.
Native Android and iOS apps are coming soon.
Install the PWA on iPhone or iPad
Open Safari and go to desi-lingo.app. Sign in to your account. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up) in Safari's toolbar. Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen". Give it a name (or keep the default) and tap Add. Desi Lingo now appears on your home screen like a regular app.
Important: you must use Safari for this — Chrome and other browsers on iOS don't support Add to Home Screen.
Install the PWA on Android
Open Chrome and go to desi-lingo.app. Sign in to your account. Tap the three-dot menu in the top right. Tap "Add to Home screen" (or "Install app" if Chrome shows that option). Confirm, and the app icon will appear on your home screen.
Some Android browsers like Samsung Internet and Edge also support this — look for "Add to Home screen" or "Install" in the browser menu.
What works on mobile
The PWA gives you full access to your dashboard, vocabulary browser, mining deck, dictionary, grammar guide, library reader, stats, and settings. Everything syncs with the desktop extension in real time.
The browser extension itself requires a desktop browser (Chrome, Brave, Edge, Arc, or Firefox). Webpage parsing and video subtitle overlays are not available on mobile yet — that's what the native apps will bring.
