V-ए/एँ (Might / Maybe)
For possibilities, wishes, or polite suggestions — 'maybe he'll come', 'let's go'
Example
शायद वह आए
Maybe he/she will come
Usage Notes
Used after शायद (maybe), ताकि (so that), चाहे (no matter), and in polite requests. Also used for "let's" — चलें? (shall we go?).
The subjunctive form doesn't change for gender — only for person and number. This makes it simpler than most other Hindi verb forms.
