Usage Notes
Same structure as present habitual, but with था/थी/थे instead of है/हैं. The auxiliary (था/थी/थे) also agrees with gender and number.
Often used for nostalgia or storytelling: बचपन में मैं बहुत खेलता था (in childhood I used to play a lot).
